A Call to Intentional Impact
“Then he said, ‘Go outside, borrow vessels from all your neighbors, empty vessels and not too few.’” — 2 Kings 4:3 (ESV)
Evangelism is the heartbeat of the Gospel. It is not a side project of the Church — it is its central mission. Yet far too often, this mission is approached with zeal but no direction, passion but no plan, urgency but no understanding. The result is scattered seeds, some falling on rocky ground, others devoured by birds, and only a few reaching good soil. But what if we could be more intentional? What if we could evangelise like Jesus — with clarity, with compassion, and with strategic purpose?
This book was born out of a growing concern and a prophetic insight: the Church must return to purposeful evangelism. Not just busy activity, but fruitful impartation. The passage in 2 Kings 4 tells the story of a widow in need, whose miracle was unlocked not simply by faith but by obedience to a divine strategy. Elisha’s instruction to borrow vessels before the oil began to flow is a revelation for our time. The vessels represented opportunity. They were the open hearts, the communities, the systems, the neighbourhoods, the “markets”, if you will, where her oil — her gift — would find purpose.
Too many ministries have oil but no vessels.
Too many believers have callings but no strategy.
Too many churches are anointed but ineffective — not because the Spirit is lacking, but because planning is missing.
Let it be clearly stated from the beginning: strategy is not a lack of faith. Strategy is often the very evidence of faith — faith that God will show up, faith that the harvest is real, and faith that preparation will not be wasted.
Jesus did not move randomly. He walked into cities, paused at wells, sent out teams, and timed His travels with prophetic insight. Paul reasoned with philosophers, wrote to cities, and selected strategic leaders to raise local churches. The early Church met in houses not by accident, but because that model allowed multiplication under persecution. Throughout history, from underground churches in China to media-driven ministries in the West, the Holy Spirit has honoured planning that aligns with His purposes.
This book does not just aim to inspire you; it is crafted to equip you.
You will learn:
- How to identify and understand your 'market' — the people who need your gift.
- How to discern God’s strategies, not just His general will.
- How to engage your environment with relevance, power, and wisdom.
- How to avoid the pitfalls of random or unproductive evangelism.
- How to build evangelistic models that last, multiply, and disciple.
You will be challenged to stop pouring where there are no vessels — and start gathering with vision.
You will read testimonies of individuals, churches, and even businesses that have reached thousands through deliberate, Spirit-breathed strategies.
And above all, you will be reminded that you are a vessel, too. Your life, your voice, your gift — all are channels for impartation. But God does not just pour into you for your sake; He pours through you for others. That is the essence of strategic evangelism: becoming a living conduit of heaven’s love, flowing into the emptiness of the world with intention and impact.
We are in a time where opportunities are everywhere, yet distractions are many. Technology, education, platforms, and nations are more accessible than ever before. But without focus, all this access can become overwhelming. That’s why this is not just a call to action — it’s a call to alignment.
May you read this book with an open Bible, an open notebook, and an open heart. Ask God to show you your jars. Ask Him to highlight the vessels around you. And when He does, don’t hesitate.
Go outside.
Borrow empty vessels.
And not too few.
The oil is ready.
The world is waiting.
Let’s pour strategically.
