Prompted by a desire to in part correct biblical information, and in compliance with the wishes of his best friends, the author has prepared this volume. Many of its pages have been written under disadvantages, amid a multiplicity of cares and domestic a?ictions, travelling on steamers, in stage coaches, cars, which, added to the appointments we have fulfilled on the Sabbath, has rendered the task of preparing this volume unusually arduous. Under these circumstances, we present this work to an impartial public hoping, if there are any imperfections detected, they will not be looked upon with a critic''s, but with an indulgent, eye. If this work slmll be blessed to the enlargement of our spirit ml Zion, and guiding some of earth''s wanderers to the Fountain of Eternal Truth, the height of our ambition will be gratified.
