He has made a journey to England during the past summer, and brought home an extensive array of facts concerning the Pope Family, from the time of the Crusades down to the settlement of New England; the chapter containing these records being the first connected account Of the Pope Family throughout England ever com piled. Articles in the Appendix, upon the individuals of our name who were enrolled among the first settlers of America, will be found valuable, not only to persons who are of our Dorchester line, but to those descended from Joseph of Salem, Thomas of Plymouth, Thomas of Elizabeth, N. J., George of South Carolina, and Thomas of Virginia.
In the Appendix there are also notes upon several pioneers of other names, settlers in Dorchester, Braintree, etc., the ancestors of some of those who have blended their stock with our own.
