Excerpt from A History of the Doggett-Daggett Family
Desire to know my own Doggett ancestry led me A to begin a search of the records in 1876.
In the search I found branches of my own line who had changed the spelling of the name to Daggett, while other branches had moved to distant parts of the country.
In trying to find these branches I had correspondence and gathered information of families who were descended from different immigrant ancestors.
