Aus diesem Grunde wird sich eine Ausgabe des Originals, die durch einen ausführlichen Commentar das zu leisten sucht, was die beiden Vorgängerinnen beharrlich von sich gewiesen haben, wol hervorwagen durfen. Den Plan dazu hatte ich schon vor Jahren gefaßt und auch ohne die Veranlassung, die ihn nun gereift, würde icli uber kurz oder lang zur Aus. Führung geschritten sein. Eine solche Ausgabe bedarf keiner Entschuldigung oder gar Rechtfertigung: sie ist einfach ein Bedürfniss, dessen Befriedigung das deutsche Volk zu fordern ein Recht hat.
