- A beginners guide to astrophotography. The book takes you through basic equipment needed with a non technical practical approach. Ideal to getting you started within the rewarding hobby of astrophotography, acting as a springboard for further research.
Over 35 images of deep sky objects taken by the author, including nebula, galaxies star clusters. Each image is accompanied by acquisition details and a brief overview of the target imaged.
- All images and text printed on high quality gloss paper. Easy to read clear text with a premium feel.
The images in this collection were captured using portable astrophotography equipment. Various telescopes were used depending on the target, from wide-field refractors, ideal for large nebulae, and open star clusters to longer focal length reflectors suited for galaxies and globular clusters.
Dedicated astronomy cameras were paired with a selection of narrowband and broadband filters, which helped isolate specific wavelengths of light such as hydrogen-alpha, oxygen-III, and sulfur-II, revealing the hidden structures and colours of emission nebulae. Broadband filters were used to capture true colour representations of galaxies and star fields.
