Description
A Hades and Persephone tale that is anything but a love story and told like you’ve never read it before. There is no love to be found in this retelling, at least not for Persephone, anyway. As in the typical tales, Hades abducts Persephone and whisks her away to the Underworld, where she becomes his bride. But their marriage bed is a far cry from anything she ever expected and she immediately voices her displeasure about her fate.
Overwhelmed by her changing feelings, Hades’ servant, a half-man half-Minotaur named Adonis, becomes Persephone’s only comfort. With her burgeoning desires, she quickly turns to Adonis to do just that. Their intimate relationship comes to light and Hades is many things over the revelation, but lenient is not one of them. Hades kills Adonis and in her grief, Persephone vows to achieve her freedom from the King of Death.
While navigating the palace after a big fight with Hades, Persephone comes upon a room where she discovers a chest full of treasures; one of which is the Infinity Stone. She steals the stone and through a chance meeting with an Oracle in Elysium, she discovers how the stone's power can set her free of Hades. With the stone’s power now in her hands, will Persephone escape Hades, or will she be trapped with him forever?
This version of Persephone is one fraught with the idea of freedom from Hades by killing the love he has for her. Will her misdeeds be the death of his love, or will Hades tire of her before she is successful?
This version of Hades is multifaceted. There are many layers to the god who has the responsibility of the dead and their afterlife thrust upon him, and as such, he is often at war with his true nature; whatever that is?
Finally, after thousands of years have passed, an unsuspecting young woman from Northwest Arkansas comes to possess the Infinity Stone, slowly unlocking all of Persephone’s secrets trapped within. At first Melody thinks she has been dreaming, but the reality of the stone and its effects come to light, forever changing her life. Will Persephone’s secrets and power set Melody free, or will they lead her to a life of torment and destruction at the hands of Hades?
