Description
Nineteen stories, eight poets, three essays, and a photo essay that refuses to stay in its own section.
This issue's featured artist is Najib Joe Hakim, the Palestinian American photographer whose Home Away from Home: Little Palestine by the Bay pairs portraits with the oral histories of Palestinians living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Twenty-four of those portraits are scattered through this issue rather than gathered in one place. They will interrupt the flow. They will stand between poems. That is the intention. Each face carries a code; the sitter's own voice waits behind it.
