Description
Richard Fuller (1804-1876), lawyer turned Baptist preacher in Beaufort, South Carolina, then in Baltimore, was one of the most celebrated pulpit orators of his day and a founder of the Southern Baptist Convention; his published controversy with Francis Wayland on slavery was widely read. This life by James Hazzard Cuthbert (Sheldon and Company, New York, 1879) draws on his letters, sermons and recollections, with a frontispiece portrait. This is a faithful print-on-demand facsimile of the 1879 edition, reproduced in full from a library copy. The historical text is reproduced without modification; only the format, margins and legibility have been reset for modern printing.
