Thomas Brown (1778-1820), professor of moral philosophy at Edinburgh and last of the great Scottish common-sense school, delivered these lectures to overflowing classrooms ; published posthumously, they went through edition after edition on both sides of the Atlantic. This second volume covers the emotions and the cultivation of the moral feelings.
