Description
Coffee Table Book of: Clouds. Cloud takes many forms, from a narrow strand against blue to a tower above a distant plain. This collection moves through those shapes with open space around each scene and short notes on what can be seen.
Fine high strands, rounded patches and broad gray layers appear at different hours. Distant rain and storm towers bring darker tones, while low fog softens valleys, grass and the edges of water.
Reflections place the sky in ponds and puddles. A few small details of rain and ice return the view to the ground before the scenes open again into clear air and evening colour.
Short notes run through the book, on cloud forms, changing light and water in the air: the fine strands of cirrus are made of ice crystals, rising air can build a cloud upward into a tower, ice crystals in thin high cloud can produce a halo around the sun, and openings in cloud cover can bring patches of sunlight to the ground.
Printed in full colour on heavy 150gsm coated paper at 216 x 279 mm (8.5 x 11 inches), as a paperback.
