Noch wichtiger ist es, Distanz zu halten. Die mangelnde Fähigkeit vieler der Schreibenden, in nere Distanz halten zu können, hat es verschuldet, daß beim Publikum der Sinn fur das richtige Auf nehmen ungemeiner Naturm verlormgegang€n ist. Man betrachtet sie zuerst, solange sie sich noch nicht durchgesetzt haben, mit Mißtrauen, späterhin, wenn sie arriviert sind, mit übertriebener Ver ehrung. Durch beide Arten, durch die Ablehnung wie durch die Verehrung, entsteht eine Kluft zwi schen dem Künstler und dem Publikum. Das Fehlen einer natürlichen Position innerhalb der Gesell schaft bringt ihn in eine Isoliertheit wider Willen.
