Description

Excerpt from A Key to Modern British Poetry

This book, now divided for the sake of convenience into essays, is not one which I would have written for choice. It was composed and delivered as a series of lectures on modern poetry during the course of my duties as a lecturer in English Literature attached to the British Council in Argentina during 1948. The present text, which has hardly been altered at all, is what typographers would call a ''mock-up'' for the lectures which were designed to appeal to an audience of graduate teachers in English, gathered from the various universities of Argentina.
