Description
Excerpt from An English-Latin Gradus, or Verse Dictionary
IT is now upwards of ten years since this book was first taken in hand. Continued, as was necessarily the case, only in the holidays, and frequently interrupted by other work, not to speak of more attractive occupations, it had progressed so far that a copy was being made by a type-writer with a view to printing, when in the autumn of 1889 a short illness was followed by the early death of the younger of its authors.
