The First Lover

Nizil Sharaf has only the age of my son. It is a great achievement from his part to publish such a good book in this age itself. I was interested by the very title of “Orange Niramulla Penkutti (The Girl in the Orange Shade)” in Malayalam and “The First Lover” in English.” When I completed reading, I realized that it was beyond my expectation. A senior writer like Om Cheri N N Pillai Sir has already made comments on the book. His words are proofs to conclude that those who had love affairs in their teenage will love this book. Even though the story, “The Girl in the Orange Shade” is a love story, it is told in the backdrop of the Gulf war. I was really attracted by this because when a writer of twenty six years old writes in Malayalam, we can see a global perspective in it. It is because of this we can know that Nizil Sharaf’s mind and perspectives are global. This is a literary virtue of Kerala too. “The First Lover” The story also has something different in it... but touched... This is the simplest yet the most inspiring story. I am sure that the love stories that attracted me will attract anybody who keeps love in heart. Alli in “The Red Wall” looks like somebody whom I saw in my childhood in my village and lost somewhere in memory. I really believe that it is my duty to encourage and give consolation to Nizil Sharaf who has contributed greatly to the world of literature. The stories written by Nizil Sharaf in his 26,… oh… some stories must have been written even before that... when he reaches my age, there will be sea changes in the experiences of love. It is an important thing to convey such love to others through literature. I also started writing stories in the age of Nizil Sharaf. Now onwards you need to filter your writing. Looking back after twenty years, while seeing that once I thought like this and wrote like this, we will realize the distance we travelled. It is a nice feeling. It is not the merits and demerits of Literature that we see there, rather we see there the development and change of Nizil Sharaf. I can actually say that it is one of the few books that I was thankful I happen to read. You need to continue your writing. Invite me to the publication of the tenth book of Nizil Sharaf.
