To the records of the Chapter of Seville, Cean Bermudez was indebted for the names of various artists of reputation in this reign, which, otherwise, would long ago have perished with their works of these masters, Anton Perez, who painted for the Cathedral from I 548 to I 564, seems to have been one of the most famous. The Flemish painter, Campaiia,'' left behind him at Seville a son named Juan Bautista, who had been his scholar, and who was employed with other artists in the restoration of the Monument for the Holy Week in I 594.
