He had married Elizabeth House, who was left with four young children: Martha, now the widow of William Dillworth, living in Hamilton county, Ill.; Barnard, who is farming in Knox county, Neb. Oscar, who was only sixteen years old when he enlisted during the Civil war in the Twenty - fourth New York Cavalry, was captured, and died while a prisoner at Andersonville, and William H. The mother remarried, her second husband being Martin Stern (now deceased), by whom she had six children.
