Description
This is a new biography on the Thackeray family in the early to mid-nineteenth century, with a focus on the shared family life that defined father and daughters alike. It is a companion volume to "Memory and Legacy". John Aplin resigned from his position as Head of the Department of Performing Arts at Brunel University in 2001 to pursue independent research on the Thackeray family. In 2006, he published "A True Affection: Anne Thackeray Ritchie and the Tennysons", and is currently working on a five-volume edition on Thackeray family papers entitled "Correspondence and Journals of the Thackeray Family". "Inheriance of Genius" together with "Memory and Legacy" is part of a two-volume set, published by James Clarke & Co.
