Der zeitige Verleger hat dann auf Wunsch des Vereinsvorstandes die weitere Herausgabe des Werkes mir anvertraut. Im Nachlasse Lübben''s fand sich dasselbe, bis zum Schlüsse des Buchstabens U ausgearbeitet, vor. Ich habe versucht, die Ausgabe naeh den (hundsatzen, wie ich sie aus den ersten zwölf Bögen zu entnehmen vermochte, fortzuführen. Als wichtigste Abweichung vom Hauptwerk stellte sich die Bezeichnung des langen e, einerlei welches Ursprungs, und zwar sowohl in offenen wie geschlossenen Silben, durch heraus. Aus dieser Wahl des Zeichens ergab sich mir die Notwendigkeit, tonlanges e in geschlossener Silbe durch ein anderes Merkmal zu unterscheiden: ich habe, nach Nerger''s Vorgang in seiner auf diesem Gebiete epochemachenden Grammatik des moklen burgischen Dialektes, gewählt.
