Travelling with Grumpy

As a family we like nothing better than a long lunch together. It is when we plan our trips in amongst the banter and the wine that flows. My mother-in-law used to love these occasions because all the family were together. She was the armchair traveller. Shortly before she died she said that I ought to write it all down. So I did, starting with three of us in Marrakech where Oddjob had trouble with the language and ending with the same three in Gambia where we all fell victim to a scam. In between, various combinations of family members visited Italy, where we had a mad weekend in Bologna and then found a possible forebear of Junior in Florence. In Spain some of us found it too English and in France Grumpy did not enjoy his finest moment. Despite all the madcap moments we are still smiling, still together and still having the occasional long lunch together.
