The Shakespeare Connections

    By

The facts about William Shakespeare could be written on the back of a postage stamp. Well, a postcard, anyway. That said, the quest for fresh information, the thirst for knowledge about the most illustrious figure of English literature goes on unabated. I joined this search in the late 1950s, but with a different aim - to "find" the man. I wanted to know what made him tick. I was more interested in Shakespeare the person than the writer. What made him what he was? Who inspired the emotional prose? What was he really like? I turned away from the well-worn track of investigation, hoping to discover clues, which may have been overlooked by earlier travellers.
