Daughter of the God-King

Hattie soon discovers some very strange goings on, including that no one has heard from her parents in months and strangers keep warning her. She travels to Egypt with her parents' agent, Monsieur Berry, to investigate. In Cairo, Hattie does not know whom to trust, including Berry, who attempts to steal the only clue to her parents' disappearance. After an abduction attempt, Hattie discovers traitorous secrets. Three different factions are in a race to discover what's inside the tomb: the French, the British and the native Egyptians, who believe Hattie is the reincarnation of the ancient Princess. A chance encounter with an old Egyptian reveals another secret, one that stuns Hattie to the core. Anne Cleeland crafts another engaging, thrilling puzzle for the reader, who is never quite sure who is a traitor, and who is a hero.
