About The Great British Book Shop

Welcome to the Great British Book Shop, a new independent online book shop selling over 250,000 printed and electronic books covering a multitude of topics and genres.

The Great British Book Shop Mission:

The Great British Book Shop strongly believes in supporting and championing independent publishers of all sizes.  By offering a fantastic new and fresh online sales channel for both printed and e-books. Our aim is to work in partnership with publishers to help them grow their book sales whilst supporting new and upcoming authors. We actively encourage our customers to help us grow the diversity of excellent publishing in the UK by buying books from a seller who believes in the importance for publishers and authors to be paid a fair price for delivering diverse content to their readers.

Our key message going out to you, our customer is:

“Help us grow the diversity and excellence of publishing in the UK by buying your books from a seller who believes in the importance of publishers, and by extension, authors being likewise paid a fair price for every book sold.”

What’s different about The Great British Book Shop?

We’re environmentally conscious and feel every book printed should have a purpose and never risk being pulped!

We are a print on demand supplier, meaning that we are able to print a vast number of the books we list for sale on demand, including orders for just a single copy.  This means that we are supporting publishers by enabling them to reduce their overheads, by not stocking thousands of books or managing the inventory for those books.  But it also means that our customers can receive their book faster, we can print a single book in the same time it would normally take to fulfill a traditional warehouse stocked book.

The Great British Book Shop represents the ultimate in lean supply, as we the manufacturer, our customers are able to come directly to us, for both the printed and digital format of the book.

The Great British Book Shop has a few simple goals:

    1)      To provide the best service possible for its users

    2)      To create a new independent UK sales channel for authors and publishers, enabling them to obtain a fair price for their work.

    3)      To create a dynamic book-buying, book-loving community over time

    4)      To promote the sales of both eBooks and printed books in one place
